Welcome to CBDP
A Social Development Organization in
Coastal Bangladesh
About Us
Since 1978, CBDP has implemented numerous development interventions, from Bashbuniya village in Barguna district, to uphold the rights of marginalized and underprivileged people. It stands as a dynamic community-based development organization that empowers women and youth, strengthens social cohesion, and promotes entrepreneurship and resilience for sustainable and inclusive growth.
Mission
To empower marginalized communities, particularly women and youth, by enhancing access to rights-based services, fostering entrepreneurship, and strengthening social cohesion through participatory, innovative, and sustainable development practices.
Vision
A society free of inequality, where every individual—regardless of gender, age, or background—can live with dignity, resilience, and opportunity.
Our Exclusive Stories
1. Behind the camera, Belal is building a new future.
Meet Belal, once a talented footballer who lost mobility to typhoid. CBDP supports his journey into content creation, starting with video editing training toward sustainable, self-employed work. Belal's success - https://www.facebook.com/Belal
2.Quality and Excellence
CBDP, alongside All Fishnet consortium partners, proudly celebrates as kuakata and Salimpur, now part of expanding Bangladesh’s newly MPA coverage to 10.5% of its EEZ, bringing us closer to the global 30x30 biodiversity goal!
3.Local strength, national reach—always one step ahead.
CBDP has built a 4,500+ Volunteer Council bringing together nationally and internationally recognized volunteers and follows a dual approach—grassroots volunteer strength paired with high-level advocacy—keeps CBDP a step ahead when disaster strikes.

4.Transparency today, sustainability tomorrow.
For the first time, a civil society platform in Arpangasia participated in a budget planning meeting to advocate for greater investment in climate resilience, access to safe drinking water, and support for marginalized women and persons with disabilities. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Union Parishad Chairperson, urging the inclusion of these priorities in the 2026–27 budget.
CBDP's seasoned crisis response machinery always looks beyond the immediate crisis.
